| full paper | Abstract: M-government involves the provision of public sector services via mobile technologies. Two principal drivers are influencing the genesis of m-government: the need to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of service provision and the availability of an adequate technological infrastructure for mobile services. There is a third, but less visible, influence on the likely success of m-government: citizens’ needs and desires to access public sector services through mobile technologies. This paper contributes an investigation of current usage of mobile technologies and a description of issues that will enhance or delay the widespread acceptance of m-government services amongst the users of public sector organizations. |
